Chris Galvin — chef and co-owner of Galvin Restaurants — has teamed up with football club, Tottenham Hotspur, and its official catering partner, Levy Restaurants, ahead of the opening of the club’s new stadium in north London next year.
Galvin, who is said to be a lifelong supporter of the football club, is the latest name announced to deliver a new fine dining programme to the “On Four” lounges and suites at the venue, along with the Roux family (Albert, Michel Jr and Emily) — who were announced as another catering partner in June. The club says it “aims to redefine the premium experience within football.”
The game appears to have come along way since former Manchester United player Roy Keane’s famous rant about “the prawn sandwich brigade” — the player’s derogatory expression given to those who attended football matches more for the corporate hospitality experience than the game itself.
Scheduled to open next year, “On Four” (located on level four!) of the new 61,559-capacity stadium, due to be completed in time for the beginning of the 2018/19 Premier League season aims to mirror the kind of quality currently being exhibited on the field by Harry Kane, Dele Alli and co.
Six chefs in total (who, combined, run 18 restaurants in locations ranging from London to Dubai) will provide “refined and varied menus” for guests on different match days throughout the season. The other chefs involved have not yet been announced.
On Four will include the “flagship restaurant and lounge” The H Club (for which prices start at £535pp, excluding membership fee), situated on the halfway line, is said to offer five dining experiences, ranging from dining with former players, a seat at the chef’s table as well as more informal brasserie and bar food options.
Chris, with his brother and business partner Jeff Galvin run three London restaurants: Michelin-starred Galvin at Windows (Park Lane) as well as La Chapelle and Bistro de Luxe in the City.
Andy O’Sullivan, director of hospitality at Tottenham Hotspur, said: “By welcoming first the Roux family and now Chris, we are developing an unrivalled premium experience for guests On Four.”
Galvin, said: “I’m extremely excited to be working with Tottenham Hotspur and bringing my food and service to guests On Four.
“This is my first partnership with a sporting venue and I can’t wait for the challenge. I am a lifelong fan and my family grew up close to Tottenham and know the area well so from a personal point of view it’s great to be part of a project that is transforming the local area as well as redefining the visitor experience in football.”
