Fame Hungry: Celebrity Sightings in London Restaurants This Week

A new weekly column documenting famous names in (famous) restaurants

Gordon Ramsay and Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester on Monday

This is the first of a new weekly column by man-about-town — Guy Pewsey.

London's kitchens must have been running at half capacity on Monday night, as Alain Ducasse toasted ten years at The Dorchester hotel with a chef-heavy dinner. Gordon Ramsay, Tom Aikens, Emily Roux, Diego Ferrari, Raymond Blanc, Pierre Koffmann and Tom Kitchin, Ducasse's protégé, downed Rum baba cocktails, white truffle and caviar. How many Michelin stars between them?

In her new single Anywhere, Rita Ora sings of being a million miles from LA. She managed just over five thousand on Monday, spending the evening at Davies Street Italian C (it stands for Cipriani, the former name) London. The occasion? The birthday of her older sister Elena, who's part of her management team.

Diners at Scott's were pondering a mystery over their oysters on Monday night after spotting actor Eddie Redmayne dining with his wife Hannah Bagshawe. A sighting of a star of his calibre is a daily occurrence at the Mayfair fish restaurant — Nigella Lawson, David Walliams and Tom Hanks are fans — but the Oscar-winner was sporting a letterman's jacket adorned with the letter 'G'. Despite suggestions — was it a lacklustre disguise, is he a superfan of the griddled prawns? — it was a less than subtle plug for Gucci.

Frasier actor Kelsey Grammar replaced tossed salads and scrambled eggs with lashings of Krug on Tuesday. He and his wife Kayte were with X Factor alumna Rebecca Ferguson at Boisdale Belgravia, which is launching a new tasting menu of foraged foods.

Piles and piles of pizza washed down with cocktails for young singer Tallia Storm, who celebrated her 19th birthday at Bunga Bunga's Covent Garden outpost on Wednesday. Lottie Moss, the half-sister of supermodel Kate, was among the well-wishers.

We’ll always have Paris... or at least her sister. Nicky Hilton was at the Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone, having dinner with dating app CEO Whitney Wolfe on Wednesday. Nicky isn’t on the market for a date — she is married to James Rothschild — but was toasting the launch of the app’s new professional networking spinoff Bumble Bizz.

Model Daisy Lowe had an early Halloween celebration on Thursday night at Soho's hacienda-style Mexican restaurant La Bodega Negra. Hosted by social media site Badoo, chimichurri and tostadas hit the spot, as did the venue's offering of inhaleable alcohol.
