The operators of Veneta — by the Salt Yard Group — which Eater London reported was for sale on Friday last week, have confirmed that the restaurant will close at the end of the year.
The site has been open for just a year but the owners have said in a statement that while the central London location was “fabulous” it was not right for the concept. The restaurant will close after its final dinner service on Friday 22 December.
The statement said: "Sadly we've taken the decision to close the doors definitively on Veneta at the end of 2017; the location whilst fabulous, is not quite right for our concept.
We look forward to serving our customers our beautiful Venetian dishes throughout the Christmas season, and indeed providing them with a farewell drink or two at the end of the year.”
Eater London understands that the lease has been taken by an undisclosed operator, which will launch in the new year.
