Fame Hungry: Celebrity Sightings in London Restaurants This Week

Mo Farah and Erin O’Connor dine out after visits with the Queen

A Sunday night dinner in Notting Hill for fashion designer and rock progeny Stella McCartney, who was seen tucking into an evening meal at The Henderson Bar in West London hotel The Laslett. McCartney is a devout vegan so probably went for the Quinoa salad. Perhaps she could get some of the family company's sausages on the menu.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, especially in St James’s, where socialite Henry Conway and singer Tallia Storm quaffed Ruinart champagne and canapés at Aquavit on Monday. The Nordic-style restaurant was celebrating the beginning of the festive season, which they have marked with the addition of a fir forest at the courtyard entrance.

Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood worked up an appetite on Monday by giving a talk on his career as an artist at the Royal Society of Art. Afterwards he and his wife — theatre director Sally Humphreys — hot-footed it to Scott's in Mayfair for some supper. The waiting staff must get starstruck often: model Kate Moss was there for lunch on Thursday.

Congratulations to Mo Farah, the Olympic champion and Quorn spokesperson: on Tuesday he was at Buckingham Palace to receive a knighthood from the Queen. When that was done, he and his wife Tania Nell enjoyed a well-deserved lunch at Holborn Dining Room, chef Calum Franklin's British brasserie at the Rosewood Hotel.

Model Erin O'Connor was also at the palace on Tuesday, to collect her MBE for services to fashion. Later, she went to The Berkeley Hotel for Prêt-à-Portea, the fashion-themed afternoon tea served in the Collins Room. Her treats included Gianvito Rossi shoe biscuits, Burberry cheesecake and Gucci bavarois: the chef added a personal touch by writing a message of congratulations in chocolate sauce. A bigger bash followed at Claridge's on Wednesday evening.

An evening of indulgence for eight women in the food industry on Wednesday, who had dinner at Heddon Street Kitchen, Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant off Regent Street. They included Melissa Hemsley, Gizzi Erskine, Rosie Birkett and Nadine Levy Redzepi, whose own recipes usually favour nutrition over Heddon Street’s more carb-forward approach. Evidently everyone loves a few chips on occasion.

Line of Duty actress Vicky McClure was at AquaShard on Tuesday night, eyeing the cranberry poached pear desserts as the striking new Christmas tree by lighting designer Lee Broom was unveiled.

And lastly is was a busy morning at The Ivy Kensington on Thursday, with Good Morning Britain host and Prime Time Prat Piers Morgan starting the day by meeting a friend there for breakfast. Across the room, TV presenter and adventurer Ben Fogle had had the same idea.
