Eater London understands that chef / restaurateur Victor Garvey — one of the big breakout success stories of 2017 — will open a new, paella- and Spanish rice-focused restaurant in Soho in the new year. Thought to be called Sibarita, it would be Garvey’s fourth restaurant in London and his second bang in the restaurant heart of the city.
Earlier this year Garvey opened one of London’s hottest restaurants: Rambla in Soho. He also runs another Sibarita and tapas bar Encant — both of which are in Covent Garden.
It is thought that the chef and restaurateur has acquired a site on the corner of Wardour Street and Old Compton Street, adjacent to the restaurant Jackson and Rye. The principal site that Garvey is taking over was formerly the cafe Tarazza but the lease includes the site next door as well. It is thought that the two spaces will be combined ahead of the restaurant’s opening.
Stay tuned for more details.
