The team behind London’s leading gastropub group — in whose portfolio is The Anchor & Hope, Canton Arms, Great Queen Street and The Magdalen Arms — will open a new all-day dining restaurant Stockwell Continental at the start of the new year. It will replace Rebato’s wine and tapas bar at 169 South Lambeth Road, between Stockwell and Vauxhall.
As Hot Dinners reported, the site is currently undergoing refurbishment. And from the restaurant’s Instagram account, the build appears to have started at the beginning of December.
The place will mark a departure from the textbook modern gastropub style that the company has made its own. It will be open all day and as well as serving coffees and pastries in the morning, there’ll be salads, pastas and focaccia for lunch, plus pizza from a wood fired oven. To drink: craft beers and wines on tap.
The restaurant is expected to open in January.
