Back to The Ivy on Monday night, where diners were in the presence of royalty as Sarah Ferguson — the Duchess of York — went for dinner at the West Street landmark with her daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
The princesses' future cousin-in-law was also out on Monday night: Meghan Markle grabbed a cocktail at Little House in Mayfair. The restaurant is part of the Soho House portfolio — Markle has been on dates with future husband Harry at the Dean Street property — but he stayed away on Monday. She was, instead, spotted there with the company's founder, Nick Jones.
Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner and her boyfriend, singer Joe Jonas, braved the pre-Christmas crowds on Thursday by venturing into central London for a spot of lunch. They were sighted upstairs at Cafe Monico, the European brasserie on Shaftesbury Avenue.
Acting really works up an appetite, so Bryan Cranston must be starving. The Oscar-nominated actor is in London at the moment, starring in Network at The National Theatre. On Monday, he picked a thespian favourite by dining at J Sheekey, the beloved seafood restaurant on St Martin's Court. Cranston found time to pose for a laugh and an Instagram post with comedian Naomi Cooper, before — or after — falling on to a plate of fine fish.
A case of separation anxiety? Stanley Johnson — father of Boris — went for lunch with actor Jamie Lomas and former footballer Dennis Wise on Tuesday afternoon. The trio became friends relatively recently through their participation in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, and caught up on life outside the jungle with a meal at Colbert on Sloane Square.

There were plenty of singles at Kettner’s Townhouse on Tuesday night, where model Amber Le Bon and food blogger Tess Ward were among guests at a dinner thrown by Bumble, the dating app. It was another notable private coup for the restaurant, which will open its doors to the public in January after an extensive refurbishment.
Lisa Snowdon, the model, radio presenter and Strictly Come Dancing contestant, had what looked like a particularly tasty meal at Scott's on Mount Street. She and her friends ordered a Scott's favourite — plateau de fruits de mer — as well as some de rigueur miso blackened salmon and banoffee cheesecake. They needed a doggy bag. No wonder.
Actor Jack Fox grabbed a bite at 45 Jermyn Street on Saturday, the recently refurbished restaurant lurking in the bowels of Fortnum & Mason. And who better to join him than Ewan Venters, the shop's diligent CEO. Fox and pals — including artist Meredith Ostrum — nibbled on cake and cheese.
Sometimes Essex gets too much, and the only way is Victoria Park. On Saturday, Ferne McCann tucked into lunch at the East London Liquor Company, just south of the Hertford Union Canal. The TOWIE stalwart went for the finocchiona, tomato, mozzarella and rocket pizza. Heavy on the rocket.
At this point it’s something of a Christmas/perennial miracle that Piers Morgan has any friends, but he pulled in an impressive crowd on Thursday night for a festive bash at The Scarsdale Tavern. Presenter Myleene Klass was among guests, as were Frank and Christine Lampard who had celebrated their wedding anniversary a few days before with dinner at Cipriani.
