Shake Shack Collaborates With Dominique Ansel for Action Against Hunger

The banoffee shake will be available throughout the UK for the month of August

Shake Shack’s Banoffe

Shake Shack is collaborating with pastry chef Dominique Ansel — of cronut fame and the “world’s best pastry chef 2017” — for its annual Great British Shake Sale, which supports food charity, Action Against Hunger. The banoffee, available in Shake Shacks across the UK for the month of August, is a combination of vanilla custard blended with caramelised bananas, dulce de leche, speculoos biscuits and sea salt, topped with whipped cream and speculoos crumbles.

The Great British Shake Sale aims to raise awareness and funds for Action Against Hunger — “a global charity committed to saving the lives of malnourished children in 50 countries.” Any customer who visits a Shake Shack branch and donates £2 or more to Action Against Hunger in August will receive a voucher for a complimentary shake on their next visit. It’s the fourth time Shake Shack have run the initiative in the UK and it follows the record-breaking 2017 U.S. Shake Sale, which raised $632,544.

Randy Garutti, Shake Shack’s CEO, said in a statement: “The Great British Shake Sale has become such a meaningful tradition for the Shake Shack family. Action Against Hunger’s work to help end child hunger is more important now than ever, and we’re so grateful to team up with them again this year.”

The Great British Shake Sale will donate all profits from the banoffee shake to Action Against Hunger, in addition to the voluntary £2 donations collected.
