Four new food operators will open in a new development — White City Place — in west London. Greek restaurant, the Athenian, New-York style pizza restaurant Pizza Street, grab-and-go Italian Coco di Mama and American bakery Butterscotch will all occupy space in the West Works building.

The four operators are all due to open in the development before the end of this year.

The Athenian is a Greek restaurant, that has emerged from a street food concept launched in 2014, by two Londoners born and raised in Athens and Cyprus. This will be the first permanent site for the brand. The Athenian will serve fresh souvlaki prepared in an authentic way.

Pizza Street is said to be London’s first fast-food New York style pizza restaurant. This will be their second restaurant; their first opened in Chiswick in 2015. Customers can try a regular or x-large pie or just a slice and they also offer BBQ grilled chicken, salads, craft beers and thick shakes.

Coco di Mama, Italian grab-and-go, will open in October at White City Place. It will be the brand’s 18th store and the company’s second new opening for 2017. Coco di Mama’s most recent openings were on Margaret Street in Fitzrovia, Victoria, Bankside and St. James.

Butterscotch Bakery will sell cake and American goods and is founded by Bea Vo, previously of Bea’s of Bloomsbury. American-style home bakes will be the focus of Butterscotch London Café. Layered cakes, peanut butter brownies, white chocolate blondies, cheesecakes, fruity marshmallows and cupcakes are all inspired by Vo’s upbringing in Washington D.C. Butterscotch will run a stall at White City Place market from September 13th as a teaser for the opening later in the year.

All four operators have signed with developers Stanhope and landowners AIMCo and Mitsui Fudosan. David Camp, Stanhope’s chief executive said: “The arrival of these four brilliant retailers demonstrates the dynamic and exciting food and beverage offer at White City Place. From great coffee to freshly made souvlaki, workers and residents will be able to enjoy the great dining options on their doorstep.”

White City Place is a reconfigured group of buildings in White City designed by RIBA award-winning architects Allies Morrison. The development is set around a central avenue that includes retail spaces, restaurants and gardens. Confirmed tenants already include ITV, YOOX Net-A-Porter, The Royal College of Art and Huckletree. It is adjacent to the old BBC Television Centre; a separate part of the White City development will be occupied by the Soho House Group — who will open in 2018. The Bluebird, which yesterday announced they would be opening in New York, are also expected to open a site in White City in January 2018.
