Vegan, trendy, expanding — a veritable buzzword bingo to kick off this briefing. By Chloe, with 10 US sites in hand, has added a location in the One Tower Bridge development to its first London site in Covent Garden. Looking for a third before beginning the swim across the pond, the achingly hip chain offers hot vegan takes on mac 'n' cheese, salade nicoise and the Guac Burger, which has been compared to Shake Shack's iconic offering.

Fuschia Dunlop eats her way round North Korea — on their terms (Paywall)

Dotards and rocket men aside, in the FT, Fuschia Dunlop reflects on the peculiarity of eating under guard. "In normal circumstances, wherever I travel, I try to eat as local people do. I discuss food with everyone I meet, seek out restaurants and markets and take copious notes. In North Korea, such opportunities were strictly circumscribed. We were on an approved itinerary, constantly accompanied by vigilant guides; visiting a home or going for an unmonitored walk was unthinkable."

Could this be another Game of Thrones’ Hot Pie stunt?
