The 11 site-strong American vegan burger brand By Chloe has at last announced that it will open its first international restaurant on Covent Garden’s Russell Street next Tuesday, 6 February.
Having initially announced it would move across the Atlantic in August last year, the brand has subsequently confirmed that it has found a second site at the One Tower Bridge development in south east London, which will open in the spring. The hip brand is also reportedly seeking a third.
The restaurant will seat up to 70 guests, offering the signature By Chloe menu, including trademark vegan takes on mac ‘n’ cheese, salade nicoise and the Guac Burger. as well as takeaway items and seasonally-changing market specials.
To mark its arrival to the UK, By Chloe will introduce a series of exclusive menu items called “London by CHLOE,” taking inspiration from famous British dishes. As such, the restaurant will offer a plant-based riffs on the following dishes:
- Classic fish ‘n’ chips: Crispy tofu replaces fish. The dish will be served with chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce.
- Shepherd’s pie: Ground seitan replaces lamb mince. Accompanied by vegetables, mashed potato and beetroot ketchup.
- Pea and ham soup: No details, other than a certainty that it won’t contain ham.
- Sticky Toffee Pudding: Without butter, but topped with whipped coconut cream.

The restaurant will be open Monday to Friday: 11 am – 11 pm; Weekends: 10 am – 11 pm
