New Rules singer Dua Lipa said goodbye to a pretty successful 2017 on Sunday night with a family dinner at Chiltern Firehouse, dining with her family on New Year’s Eve. She only had time for a quick break though: she flew to Jamaica this week to start working on her next album.

Sometimes you just have to keep dancing: Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins and her Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole dined at The Northall on Wednesday, the British restaurant in Whitehall’s Corinthia Hotel. But their partners need not worry about a romance off the dance floor: they were wining and dining the winning bidders of a charity auction for Ellenor.

New year, new you. And a new Rita Ora, who was spotted in Notting Hill on Thursday afternoon. She was embracing her apparent resolutions by popping into the gym and purchasing a post-workout protein shake at Bodyism, the café and gym. The shakes, according to the menu, “contain probiotics to heal and soothe your gut, herbal adaptogens for optimal health and are made with highly bioavailable, organic ingredients.” Sounds, um, delicious.

Christmas may be over but that doesn’t mean the decorations have to come down quite yet. Especially at The Ivy Chelsea Garden. The Only Way Is Essex star Ferne McCann was there for a spot of lunch on Thursday, with pal Portia Smith.

Pity poor Olivia Attwood. She spent much of her year sunbathing and swimming as a contestant on Love Island, but started 2018 in chilly London town. Thursday evening saw her appear on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side before she headed in to Mayfair for dinner at the Berkeley Street Nobu. No sign of Chris Hughes, her Love Island beau, though.

Jennifer Hudson doesn’t mind the cold though. The Oscar-winning actress and singer has flown in to mentor fresh talent in ITV’s The Voice, but found the time for a quick skate at Queen’s, the ice rink, bowling alley and dining destination in Bayswater on Thursday. She grabbed a bite at the on-site MEATliquor after working up an appetite.
