Patisserie chain faces imminent financial difficulty

Patisserie Valerie is the subject of a winding up order from HMRC over £1.14m of unpaid taxes. The money is linked to “significant, and potentially fraudulent, accounting irregularities,” according to the BBC.

Iconic Mayfair Indian restaurant names new executive chef

Gymkhana has named Jitin Joshi as its new executive chef, following his stints at Atmosphere — the world’s highest restaurant — and Taj Hotel, both in Dubai. The appointment was revealed on Twitter by Richard Vines.

Quaglinos appoints new executive head chef

Nuno Goncalves will take on the executive head chef position at St James’ restaurant Quaglinos. The celebrity-royals-money magnet’s new chef has previous at Galvin at Windows, and one of the U.K.’s only three Michelin-starred restaurants, the Waterside Inn in Bray.

London’s leading Mexican restaurant launches brunch

Santo Remedio is launching a brunch menu long on partnership’s with St. John bakery. The London Bridge restaurant owned by Natalie and Edson Diaz-Fuentes will serve chilaquiles verdes, torta ahogada, and doughnuts “with surprise Mexican fillings” from 14 October.
