A very fashionable lunch at The Wolseley on Friday. Edward Enninful, editor of Vogue, was seen there enjoying a bite with fashion designer Dame Vivienne Westwood and shoe icon Manolo Blahnik.

Melissa McCarthy, star of Bridesmaids and new film Can You Ever Forgive Me, was in London over the weekend. She was seen having dinner at Scott’s. Shaun of the Dead actor Simon Pegg was also there that night, on a date night with his wife.

Also on Friday, singer Rita Ora was back at Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone.

Love, Actually is all around, and so is Emma Thompson. The Oscar-winning actress was out for dinner in Mayfair on Friday night: she and her husband Greg Wise were spotted at 34.

Also at 34 this week was singer Joe Jonas and Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner. The couple, who are engaged, took their parents out for dinner there on Monday night. Wedding planning must be afoot.

Brigadiers, the Indian restaurant in the Bloomberg Arcade from the team behind Gymkhana, showed Maria Sharapova a few things about serving this week. The Wimbledon champion was there for dinner on Saturday night. She has been sampling plenty of London’s offerings of late: She’s been spotted at Trishna and BRAT in recent weeks.

Vogue’s Enninful ate out again on Saturday, heading to The Laylow on the Golborne Road. He was hosting a dinner for director Spike Lee and invited friends and fans: actors Idris Elba and Riz Ahmed were there, as was Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace and author Salman Rushdie. Just an average night in Notting Hill, then.

Laylow had another big night on Tuesday: actor Rami Malek was at the restaurant and club after the London premiere of his new film Bohemian Rhapsody, in which he plays Freddie Mercury.

Sara McDonald, wife of Noel Gallagher, had a birthday knees-up in Notting Hill on Monday evening. She and Noel were at Casa Cruz on Clarendon Road, and they brought a few friends along to toast her 47th. They included the whole of U2Bono included — and model Laura Bailey.

The group follow in the footsteps of Madonna and Rita Ora, who have both dined there recently.

Matt Smith has more time to himself now that he’s no longer playing Prince Phillip in The Crown. The actor had a leisurely lunch in Mayfair on Wednesday: he was seen at Hush on Lancashire Court. A fellow diner notes that Smith ordered the salt and pepper squid and the Keralan chicken curry.
