EATER TALKS: VEGANISM IN 2018
Eater London and Ace Hotel London will host the fifth Eater Talks panel discussion Wednesday 14 November. We will cover the subject of veganism in 2018, in conversation with Denai Moore, creator of Dee’s Table/ and Alexis Gauthier, chef-owner, Gauthier Soho.
Moore oversees the menu at Buster Mantis, the Deptford Jamaican restaurant which switched to an all-vegan operation in September; while Gauthier pledged to move his French fine dining restaurant to an all-vegan menu within two years in June.
Both will be asked: What are the reasons behind veganism’s new commercial appeal, how can we better understand the history and importance of vegan food from non-white cultures, why is the narrative being largely stage-managed by an American wellness trend, how are chefs adjusting to a new consumer demand, and if — as it appears — it’s more than just a fad, where will it go next?
7pm to 9pm Wednesday 14 November, 2018
Entry: Free with RSVP — The Rooftop, Ace Hotel, Shoreditch.
To sign up, register for free here.
