Victoria and David Beckham had a night off from their four-strong brood on Monday night. They went for dinner in Mayfair, choosing Annabel’s in Berkeley Square, which is currently adorned with a Christmas tree that may be able to claim to be the largest in central London. Victoria’s parents joined the pair.
Monday also saw Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger seek that oh-so-elusive satisfaction at Casa Cruz in Notting Hill, which has become a favourite of Madonna and Rita Ora this year. The next night, artist David Yarrow and model Abbey Clancy — wife of former England footballer Peter Crouch — headed there for a Christmas party.
Nigella Lawson is surely planning on preparing a Christmas feast, so no wonder she needed to eat out before the big day. She had what she called “a lunch of absolute exquisiteness” on Saturday, eating at Andrew Wong’s eponymous Michelin-starred restaurant in Pimlico.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has become Instagram famous for gorging on “unhealthy” food on his “cheat days,” his breaks from his intensive workout regime. This week, London witnessed this first hand: the actor and former wrestler, in town for a new film, called in an enormous takeaway from Mulberry Street, the pizza restaurant in Bayswater. The toppings of choice raised eyebrows: Hawaiian, featuring ham and the controversial pineapple. No matter for Johnson though: #MyPizzaMyRules
Also on Tuesday night, Australian model Jordan Barrett dined with mate Jess Clarke at Isabel in Mayfair. Shortly after, they swapped that low-key sophistication for something a bit louder: Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.
Love (island) is in the air this Christmas. Several of the contestants from this year’s biggest TV guilty pleasure, including fan favourite Megan Barton-Henson, reunited for dinner this week following the broadcast of a special festive episode of the programme. They were out at Ritorno, the Italian brasserie, on Tuesday night.
Evidently the dog days really are over for Florence Welch. The red-headed singer was out for an elegant dinner at The Wolseley on Wednesday evening.
A bit of a blow-out to see out the year on Wednesday night. Actor Tom Sturridge invited his famous friends for dinner to celebrate his birthday. The night started out at Scott’s in Mayfair, then moved to Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone, then back to Mayfair to Claridge’s. Festivities finished at 6am on Thursday morning. Sienna Miller, Sturridge’s ex girlfriend, was there, as were talk show host James Corden, Noel Gallagher, model Poppy Delevingne and acting couple Matt Smith and Lily James. The hangovers will, hopefully, subside by the 25th.
