Jessica Alba, star of Dark Angel and Fantastic Four, headed back to Los Angeles this week after a quick work trip to the UK. But she enjoyed some of London’s treats before leaving. On Monday, she had tea at Fortnum & Mason with her daughter Haven before going to see a West End show. Afterwards, she had a late dinner at the Covent Garden outpost of Dishoom, the mightily popular Indian chain.
Over in West London, a pair of rock progeny united. Pixie Geldof – singer and daughter of Boomtown Rat Bob — was seen at the Ivy Kensington Brasserie on Monday evening with Tyrone Wood — son of Rolling Stone Ronnie. They were showing their support for the launch of For Good Causes, a new charity project.
Legend has it that supermodel Kate Moss has a mantra: “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” Luckily, she’s relaxed the rule: she was at Sexy Fish, Richard Caring and Caprice Holding’s lively sushi restaurant in Mayfair, for a spot of lunch on Tuesday.
Drake, a last-minute replacement at Sunday’s Wireless Festival, was at Annabel’s on Tuesday night. The Canadian rapper was at the Berkeley Square members club after a day at Wimbledon, and invited some famous friends and admirers along to party into the night. Singer Lily Allen, Star Wars actor John Boyega and former One Directioner Liam Payne were all spotted.
Chucs, the Italian at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, is bringing in the famous faces this summer — perhaps thanks to the glorious weather luring people into the park. Tuesday night brought in a large crowd: Alan Yentob, former Culture Secretary Ed Vaizey, fashion designer Anya Hindmarch and War & Peace actress Jessie Buckley were all there.
Singer and actor Justin Timberlake has been spotted in Soho while in London for his world tour. He went out for dinner with his wife, actress Jessica Biel, on Tuesday night. The pair were spotted dining on Archer Street’s Bocca di Lupo, one of the area’s favourite Italians from Jacob Kenedy and Victor Hugo.
So the football’s not coming home after all. Oh well: at least there are pubs to drown one’s sorrows in. The Clissold Park Tavern pub near Stoke Newington, which offers a pretty good pizza menu, was full to the brim on Wednesday night. Presenter Alexa Chung and DJ Nick Grimshaw were among those cheering on the England team.
