Happy birthday to Anna Friel! The Marcella actress, 42, was at The River Café in Hammersmith on Friday afternoon for a birthday lunch. She was joined by Lady Kitty Spencer and Ewan Venters, CEO of Fortnum & Mason.
Jeremy Corbyn may be under fire this week, but a leader’s got to eat. He and his son Tommy paid a visit to Max’s sandwich shop on Crouch Hill on Saturday and posed for their fans outside.
It was the final of the latest series of Love Island on Monday. Georgia Steel and Sam Bird, who had already been kicked off, joined 2017 couple Jess Shears and Dom Lever as well as former ambassador for Iceland (the supermarket, not the country) Kerry Katona for a viewing party at Tropicana, the beach-themed restaurant and club in Covent Garden. Singer Jason Brock joined fans at a similar party at Goat, the Chelsea restaurant.
Those who managed to reach the final have returned to London this week. Paul and Kaz were seen tucking into an Itsu as soon as they landed at Stansted airport on Tuesday (after a delayed flight). Winners Jack and Dani, meanwhile, said they were looking forward to a Nando’s but have yet to be seen tucking in. They were later seen enjoying a McDonalds on the way to visit Dani’s dad, Danny, in Essex. Eating their feelings indeed.
Jack Brooksbank, the former Mahiki manager who will marry Princess Eugenie later this year, had a night away on Tuesday. He hosted a Casamigos Tequila dinner party at Bagatelle, the French restaurant on Dover Street. Tailor Patrick Grant was among the guests.
Evidently Cher is something on an aphrodisiac. Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse watched Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again on Tuesday night at The Electric Cinema. Afterwards, they went next door to Electric House (part of the Soho House group) for drinks and a bite. The paparazzi caught them smooching on their way home afterwards.
Nick Jonas, the American singer, was seen on something of a culinary tour across London last week with his fiancé, actress Priyanka Chopra. He was solo this week, though, heading to J Sheekey’s for a bit of seafood on Wednesday evening.
Bit of a Wilde time at Smith & Wollensky’s on Thursday night. The bar and grill off the Strand hosted the cast of The Importance of Being Earnest after the press night. Actress Sophie Thompson, sister of Emma, and Last Tango in Halifax star Anne Reid were among the revellers.
