Fusion restaurant in glass tower will open with living ceiling

Heron Tower celebrity-fusion-magnet Sushi Samba (SUSHISAMBA) will open in Covent Garden’s Market Building. The Opera Terrace restaurant ticks the robata grill and open kitchen boxes, Hot Dinners reports, throwing in a living ceiling and “one of the largest premium sake collections in the world.”

The Cinnamon Group — owned by chef-restaurateur Vivek Singh — is launching “plant-based” tasting menus across its restaurants. Fried chicken mavericks repurpose own sauce, seek pop culture hook

Implying, as it does in an announcement today, a connection to the Rick and Morty cartoon and McDonald’s Szechuan sauce episode seems like a reach, folks. Even so, it will launch — at the brand’s sister site Chik’n on Baker Street — on 25 September, replacing the “Gangnam Style” double fillet sandwich.

Sell-out Bengali supper club finally opens permanently in Covent Garden

Eater reported that Little Kolkata would open in Covent Garden back in May, and the Bengali kitchen from Prabhir Chattopadhay and Biswajit Deb Das is now open. A star dish looks to be lilish maacher deemer, a fish egg fry made from ilish, or hilsa, an oily fish indigneous to the waters of the Bay of Bengal and so highly-regarded that it was recently reported to be at severe risk of overfishing.
