A big week for models celebrating their birthdays. First, on Friday, Suki Waterhouse hosted a dinner to mark her 27th. She chose Casa Cruz in Notting Hill, welcoming friends including Lord of the Rings star Liv Tyler, model Cara Delevingne and Twilight’s Robert Pattinson.
Then, on Tuesday, it was the turn of Kate Moss. The model celebrated turning 45 with dinner at China Tang this week. Moss, who was friends with the late David Tang and is a regular at the restaurant, was joined by pals including designer Stella McCartney and, putting in a repeat appearance this week, Liv Tyler.
Veganism has never been more popular, and contentious, but David and Victoria Beckham showed which side their bread is buttered this week by visiting plant-based burger residency Filth in Shoreditch. Co-founded by Gizzi Erskine and Rose Ferguson, the Beckhams and their kids dropped in on Saturday to sample the vegan burgers.
It was also a Saturday night to remember, or forget, depending on the alcohol intake, for This Morning host Holly Willoughby. She spent the evening out with friends including Spice Girl Emma Bunton and All Saints’ Nicole Appleton. They dined at Nobu on Park Lane, then headed to The Groucho for a nightcap that turned into a morning cap.
No Mr Bond, I expect you to dine… Pierce Brosnan, former 007, was at Kutir in Chelsea on Monday evening. The very hot Indian restaurant was opened by ex-Gymkhana and Jamavar chef Rohit Ghai late last year.
Wait ages to spot a Tottenham star eating out in London and then three pop up at once. Harry Redknapp, the newly minted national treasure since winning I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, was at Kerridge’s Bar and Grill on Monday evening. Also there were footballers Hugo Lloris and Harry Winks, the day after their 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Wembley.
TV presenter, model and designer Alexa Chung got a bit exasperated over the weekend, taking to Twitter to complain to Amazon for giving its popular virtual assistant her name. But she was calmer come Monday: she was spotted, all smiles, at Scott’s in Mayfair.
Another Beckham spot: Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son in the brood, was out for lunch on Monday with his girlfriend Hana Cross. They ate at ramen restaurant Bone Daddies in St Christopher’s Place, just off Oxford Circus.
Later that day, Hugh Bonneville exhibited a taste level worthy of his upper-class character in Downton Abbey. He made a visit to the French House in Soho, which now serves excellent dishes from Neil Borthwick.
Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington was spotted having a nice lunch on Wednesday. She was at the Coal Office Restaurant which has just arrived in King’s Cross as part of its Coal Drops Yard complex.
