Diners at J Sheekey and its adjacent Atlantic Bar last Thursday could be forgiven for getting a bit starstruck. Sienna Miller, Robert De Niro, and Bruce Springsteen headed there for dinner after meeting on Graham Norton’s sofa and hitting it off. Perhaps De Niro needed a break from Nobu, which he co-founded twenty five years ago. Eating black cod with miso every night would turn anyone into a raging bull.

Down to Hammersmith on Sunday, for a dinner at the beloved River Cafe.

Charity The Mix, which offers digital support to young people, put on a spread for celebrity supporters. Jeremy Clarkson, the disgraced Top Gear host and now presenter of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, was among the supporters, as was Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran.

Liam Payne, singer and ex of Cheryl, is doing a pretty thorough job of wining and dining his new girlfriend, model Maya Henry. They made their latest reservation at Mayfair’s Novikov on Tuesday, after a series of dinner dates including the inevitable visit to Marylebone’s Chiltern Firehouse last week.

Eva Longoria, the Desperate Housewives star, is in London with Melanie Griffith, the Working Girl actor. They dined together at flower-festooned Annabel’s in Mayfair on Wednesday evening — ahead of co-hosting the London Global Gift Gala on Thursday — but before that they made an unlikely stop: they had coffee at Patisserie Valerie in St James’s.

This year’s Love Island contestants may have returned to their everyday lives, but the programme’s host is still out and about. Caroline Flack, the series presenter and former Strictly Come Dancing champion, was with boyfriend Lewis Burton on Wednesday night. They were spotted dining at Sexy Fish, on Mayfair’s Berkeley Square.

Across said square, and back at Annabel’s, Liberty threw a dinner party with a difference. As part of their launch of a new nightwear collection, guests were all expected to dine in their pajamas. Thankfully, it was held in one of the private dining rooms. Model Daisy Lowe was among the guests.
