Friends star Jennifer Aniston and Legally Blonde star Reese Witherspoon had a whistle-stop tour of London last week. The pair were in town to publicise the launch of their new drama, The Morning Show, appearing on The Graham Norton Show and at a press junket at the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho. But they found some time in the schedule to relax with a bite to eat: a diner spotted the duo at Harry’s Bar on Friday evening.
A touch of reality television came to Mayfair on Tuesday evening. The Only Way Is Essex cast member Yazmin Oukhellou was out for dinner with Alfie Best of TV show Absolutely Ascot. They dined at Sexy Fish, which is about to start celebrations for its 4th anniversary.
Also on Tuesday, David Beckham was seen spending the evening at White City House, the Soho House site in West London. He was with his children Brooklyn and Harper, watching the fireworks.
Chucs, the Hyde Park restaurant designed by Zaha Hadid, was one of the most populated spots of the summer before autumn set in. But it’s holding onto its celebrity credentials. Wednesday saw the site host a party to mark the 50th anniversary of TAG Heuer’s Monaco watch. Its connections to the racing world, including adorning the wrist of Steve McQueen in classic film Le Mans, meant that the guest list was decidedly petrol-headed: Christian Horner, team principal of the Red Bull Racing Formula One team, was there with Geri Horner — formerly Geri Halliwell, aka Ginger Spice — as well as model Amber Le Bon, TV presenter Natalie Pinkham and model David Gandy. The menu offered scotch eggs, meat pies and roast beef with Yorkshire pudding.
There was similarly classic fare across town, at the launch of the new Cahoots site, an above-ground off-shoot of their original Kingly Court basement. Its 1940s, war-time theme means a divided menu of British classics — pies; mash; fish finger sandwiches — and American fare — chicken and waffles; sloppy joes. Guests at the Wednesday night launch included Caroline Flack — Love Island host — explorer Levison Wood, and actor and presenter Denise Van Outen.
Line Of Duty’s Adrian Dunbar was out on Thursday evening, showing his support for his mate Richard Corrigan. The chef is opening his third restaurant in London — Daffodil Mulligan. Eamonn Holmes and Gizzi Erskine were also among the guests.
Fans of Jack Ryan have taken to Twitter to express one London restaurant-related issue with the new series, which stars John Krasinski as the fictional CIA agent.
There is a LOT going on in the new series of Jack Ryan but the most shocking part of the show has to be when Anthony Head's character – the dodgy CEO of a massive, global company – requests to meet his assassin for hire...at the Steak & Co in Leicester Square.
