Island Social Club’s third Nyamming event will bring Marie Mitchell of Island Social Club and vegan cook Denai Moore — recently in residence at Buster Mantis in Deptford together to explore the Ital belief system’s connection to plant-based food, and its predating of the idea of veganism. A four course dinner rings in at £45 — book from 8 March.

Following residencies at Kerb and The Duke’s Head in Highgate, meat specialists The Beefsteaks are setting up shop in Borough Market. Burger specialist seeks to recover from Hackney restaurant closure
Andy Taylor’s Carte Blanche restaurant closed on Mare Street after just six months, but his Le Bun burger brand will return to east London at the Truman Brewery. Expect truffle double burgers, truffle cheeseburgers, truffle bacon cheeseburgers, and a West Coast style cheeseburger inspired by In-N-Out.
London wine bar crowdfunds Canary Wharf opening
Humble Grape has successfully raised £400,000 to open a Canary Wharf wine bar — it will join four extant wine shops and bars in Islington, Battersea, Fleet Street, and the City.
