Happy Birthday to actress Lily James, star of Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again, who turned 30 in style last week and marked the occasion with a double bill bash. She started with an intimate dinner at Mark’s Club in Mayfair, complete with enormous birthday cake, before an all-nighter at The Box on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, Canadian rapper Drake hot-footed it to Annabel’s for a bite and a tasting of Mod Selection champagne, a brand launched by Drake himself earlier this year. It costs approximately $400 a bottle. Did Annabel’s charge corkage?
Also at Annabel’s this week was Charlie Sheen. He was spotted at the Mayfair members’ club on Tuesday evening. Then, on Wednesday night, he dined at Boisdale of Canary Wharf.
Michael McKean, the actor best known for This Is Spinal Tap and as Old Chuck in Better Call Saul, is in London and continued his so-called Deli Quest with a trip to the Victoria outpost of Monty’s. He tweeted his approval of their “pretty good” pastrami on rye, with Monty’s inviting him to their Hoxton Street branch for the full experience.
Singer Pixie Lott and her model fiancé Oliver Cheshire were on a date night on Tuesday. The pair were spotted enjoying dinner at Harry’s Bar, the Marylebone Italian.
Meanwhile, over in Covent Garden, Made In Chelsea veteran and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here victor Georgia “Toff” Toffolo visited the central London branch of SushiSamba. And in Mayfair, tailor and Great British Sewing Bee judge Patrick Grant was among the diners at Gymkhana, which was launching a new cocktail collection.
Daniel Humm, the Swiss chef, is in London on something of a journey of discovery. He was at Brat on Tuesday night, visiting head chef Tomos Parry and getting stuck in in the Shoreditch kitchen.
Gordon Ramsay teased the opening of his next restaurant, Lucky Cat on Berkeley Square, for friends on Wednesday night. Well-wishers included presenter Laura Whitmore and chef Gizzi Erskine.
Michaela Coel, the BAFTA-winning star and writer of Chewing Gum, found herself at All Nations, the Dalston vegan restaurant, on Wednesday evening. She raved about the experience online afterwards.
Strolled into a plant based Caribbean restaurant and ended up having my stomach filled with incredible food and my mind with great conversation about inclusion love health and support! Thank you "All Nations" (8 Sandringham road London E8) seriously, go and yam! pic.twitter.com/VDPP6Rp5Vx
