Eater Talks: Are food halls the new future of casual dining in London?
Wednesday, 17 July — 7:00 p.m.
Eater London and the Ace Hotel will continue their ongoing food and restaurant industry discussion series this month.
During the 90-minute discussion, panellists representing investors, restaurant owners, and food writers in London will join Eater London editor Adam Coghlan for a conversation on whether food halls are the new future of casual dining in the London restaurant industry.
In a city that is both increasingly obsessed with restaurants but no longer as able to sustain new openings in the conventional format, the food hall model is capturing the imagination of investors, operators, and diners alike.
At this Eater Talk, panelists Simon Anderson, co-founder of Market Halls, John Li, owner of Dumpling Shack, writer and academic Rebecca May Johnson, and Kerb founder Petra Barran will discuss why food halls are so appealing right now, the unique challenges they present for operators, and whether or not this apparently communal model is truly accessible for all.
This Eater London x Ace Hotel discussion will take place on Wednesday, 17 July from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost £15, and include one drink.
