Soho’s Bun House Flips to Hong Kong-Inspired Late Night Restaurant

Wun’s will offer claypot dishes and XO bone marrow on Greek Street

Bun House will flip its Soho restaurant on Greek Street to Wun’s, a new ‘Hong Kong-inspired’ restaurant and bar. It retains its newer Bun House site in on Lisle Street in Chinatown, which opened in April this year.

Wun’s will keep Bun House’s two-tier approach, but flip from bun house and tea room to restaurant and bar. The bar will be downstairs, according to Hot Dinners, with the upstairs inspired by the dai pai dong food stalls of Hong Kong. Food will include XO sauced bone marrow with mantou buns; Iberico pork char siu rice in a claypot; and Macau-style egg tarts. Drinks focus on bright and sour flavours, including a bamboo fenjiu paired with pu’er liqueur, fresh quince and mango.

This new iteration of Bun House will join owners Alex Peffly and Z He’s two Pleasant Lady stalls dedicated to jian bing, one in Soho and one at Spitalfields Market’s ‘The Kitchens’. The restaurant will open 24 July.
