Bit of a weird time to be Shadow Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union. Labour MP Keir Starmer was spotted by a central London spy on Saturday evening, dining at the Diwana Bhel Poori House near Euston. Starmer is the MP for Holborn and St Pancras, so it’s good to see him supporting his local economy.
Good to see Kit Harington out and about, too. The Game Of Thrones star recently completed a stay in rehab due to stress, but looked happy and healthy as he ate al fresco on Monday. He and a friend were spotted having lunch outside at Oscar, the bar and restaurant at the Charlotte Street Hotel, just north of Oxford Street.
Every dog has his day. Especially Ru, Vogue editor Edward Enninful’s Boston Terrier. Both dog and owner had a Sunday lunch with Karen Elson, the model, choosing the Laylow in Notting Hill. Ru shared proof of the date on his Instagram, although no-one knows who handles the dog’s social media.
Monday night was the most important night of the week, if not the year: Caroline Flack had the country on tenterhooks as she announced the winner of Love Island.
Not everyone cared, though. Amy Hart, who left the villa of her own accord a few weeks ago, chose not to watch. Instead, she enjoyed a bite and a drink at the Carnaby Rum Kitchen, sharing snaps of her trip on Instagram.
Many of the evictees, however, got together to watch the finale: Danny, Jourdan and Yewande were all glued to the screen at the Tropicana Beach Club.
Idris Elba announced that he’s not really sure what the musical Cats is about this week, despite the fact that he’s already filmed his scenes for the forthcoming film adaptation. He does, however, know where to go for a dinner date. He and his wife Sabrina were spotted at Marylebone’s Chiltern Firehouse on Wednesday evening, just after Elba flew in from a U.S. press tour.
An east London local passes on a Wednesday sighting: Nick Grimshaw was in London Fields, DJ-ing at Wringer + Mangle, the bar and restaurant on Sidworth Street.
