The country is a mess but at least Great British Bake Off is back. To celebrate, some of the programme’s former favourites got together to get their bake on again. Ruby Bhogal, Selasi Gbormittah, Candice Brown, Benjamina Ebuehi and Dan Beasley Harding convened at Taiwanese restaurant Din Tai Fung on Wednesday night, and were given a dumpling-making masterclass. No Paul Hollywood, thank God.
Also on Wednesday, Phoebe Waller-Bridge stepped offstage of her one-woman show, Fleabag, and up Shaftesbury Avenue for a drink and a bite at The Century Club. She was joined by Fleabag television co-stars Andrew Scott and Sian Clifford, as well as Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek.
E&O, the pan-Asian restaurant in West London, is fast becoming a Chelsea favourite. Binky Felstead, of Made In Chelsea fame, was spotted dining there with a male friend last Thursday evening. The same night, Binky’s former co-star Georgia “Toff” Toffolo was seen nearby, at The Beaufort Arms.
Love Island stars continue to sing for their supper. Georgia Harrison, who appeared in the show in 2017, was out at The Chiltern Firehouse on Saturday night. She was a guest of American actor Mickey Gooch, who took her there after a premiere in Leicester Square.
This year’s recent evictees were out this week too. Chris Taylor (good quiff, copious tattoos) was at Savage Garden on Tuesday night. The name of the bar and restaurant in east London started a spat over naming rights with the Australian band of the same name. The objection was deemed irrelevant when it was established that the site is found on actual Savage Gardens.
Some of the city’s singletons ascended to the restaurant on the roof of Shoreditch House this week for a party hosted by Bumble. Model Lottie Moss and singer Vanessa King were among the guests at the Wednesday night bash spotted by a few poolside hipsters.
