London Fashion Week began with dinner at Laylow in Notting Hill. It wasn’t an official event, but Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful’s early birthday party — he’ll be in Milan for the big day, of course.
Model Karen Elson and Widows director Steve McQueen gave the speeches.
The Mason’s Arms got the endorsement of the century on Friday night as Adele took to the stage to sing a couple of songs. The well-liked pub in Battersea hadn’t booked the star as a surprise pub performer; she was at the wedding celebrations for her friend Laura Dockrill and Hugo White of the Maccabees. She offered a rendition of “Spice Up Your Life” and her own hit “Rolling In The Deep,” before telling guests that her album will be out in September. Singer Florence Welch, of Florence and the Machine was among the guests.
The subterranean private dining room at Scott’s proved the perfect venue for a sea-themed dinner party thrown by Maxx Royal Resorts. Its fish tank bar and aquarium-style artworks complemented the evening co-hosted by supermodel Natalia Vodianova, guests including Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace and actor Donna Air, currently in the BBC’s The Split. Guests enjoyed salmon, halibut with scallops, and vanilla brûlée for dessert. And champagne, obviously. Plenty of champagne.
World-famous French chef Alain Ducasse visited one of the most current restaurants in the capital. He popped in at Silo, Doug McMaster’s zero-waste operation in Hackney Wick.
Katarina Johnson-Thompson may be the face of Muller yoghurt, but one cannot live on dairy alone.
On Tuesday, the world champion athlete and best mate of Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer was spotted at Hoi Polloi, the Ace Hotel’s brasserie in Shoreditch.
If the long list of BAFTA after parties gave you FOMO, stop reading now. The BRIT Awards proved equally envy-inducing.
Warner Music returned to Marylebone’s Chiltern Firehouse for another year. Guests arrived to find piles of the restaurant’s famous crab donuts, toasties and truffle fries. Stormzy, Lizzo, Courtney Love, Maya Jama, Jack Whitehall and supermodel Naomi Campbell were among the revellers.
Across town, The Ned’s many restaurants jumped into action. Cecconi’s, Millie’s Lounge, Kaia and Zobler’s worked together to cater to guests including Billie Eilish, Mabel, Niall Horan and Ellie Goulding with bites including sushi, vegan burgers, and pizette.
Decimo, the Standard Hotel’s restaurant on the eighth floor, hosted Sony’s party, with Harry Styles on the list. But that was only one of the events held there this week. On Sunday evening, Victoria Beckham threw a celebration there after her LFW show. And on Monday, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Erin O’Connor, Kaia Gerber and Iris Law were there for LOVE Magazine’s LFW celebrations.
