It was all about the BAFTAs this week, as London’s restaurants and members’ clubs battled to mark the event with the best party.
Before the big night, stars including Lily Allen, her Stranger Things boyfriend David Harbour, Emilia Clarke, and Claire Foy dined at 5 Hertford Street at Charles Finch and Chanel’s annual pre-party on Saturday evening.
After the awards were handed out on Sunday night, guests headed out too. Netflix hosted a bash at Chiltern Firehouse, attended by Scarlett Johansson, Laura Dern, Robert de Niro, Bradley Cooper, Mark Ronson, Andrew Scott, Greta Gerwig, Noomi Rapace, Florence Pugh, Courtney Love, Lily Cole and Richard E Grant.
Some of these guests also swung by Vogue’s rival party at Annabel’s, with Charlize Theron, Margot Robbie, Daisy Ridley, Victoria Beckham, Gemma Arterton and John Boyega all on the list.
Brexit Day has been and gone, with one of its chief architects Dominic Cummings haranguing an ITV reporter who asked him how he would be celebrating on Friday night. In fairness, he had already celebrated, marking the momentous occasion with ... Dinner at the Westminster outpost of Pizza Express.

He wasn’t the only one politician seen out and about this week. According to Twitter account EyeSpyMP, Labour leader hopeful Richard Burgon dined alone on Wednesday night at Bellamy’s, the Westminster cafeteria, while nearby former First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond spent at least part of the evening at Duke’s on St James’s Place.

Even famous photographers like the simple things once in a while. Customers at the Pret a Manger on Eastcastle Street were surprised to spot legendary snapper David Bailey perusing the sandwich selection on Saturday afternoon.
Katy Perry has been in London, hitting headlines this week after being announced as a surprise new ambassador for the British Asian Trust. But before that, she was out for dinner on Monday evening. She opted for a classic: Scott’s in Mayfair.
