The Chef Behind London’s Greatest Seafood Boil Will Pop Up in Farringdon

Tom Zahir Browne’s Decatur — responsible for perhaps the most singular, delicious meal kit to emerge from lockdown — will take over the kitchen at Quality Wines from 29 September

Tom Zahir Browne’s Decatur, responsible for a truly outstanding seafood boil — and with it one of the best meal kits of 2020 — will take over the kitchen at Quality Wines in Farringdon from 29 September to 16 October.

The centrepiece will be that boil: prawns, sweetcorn, andouille, potatoes, and Zahir Browne’s “Decaturains” spice mix, with garlic butter and citrus to add tang and bite. The chargrilled oysters that kicked off Decatur’s success in 2014 will also be on offer, alongside some tantalising upgrades to the standard seafood spread: lobster, crab legs, clams, mussels. The only Crystal flowing will be hot sauce, with reservations taken Wednesday — Sunday.

Part of the effort will go towards raising funds for people affected by Hurricane Ida, which has devastated much of New Orleans and Louisiana — £1, or more if people wish, from every bill will go to local charities and mutual aid groups on the ground.

Check back soon for a feature with Zahir Browne come the start of the pop-up.
